What Wetsuit Should I Buy

Question: What is the perfect wetsuit for me?

There is no perfect wetsuit for every condition. Different fits/thicknesses and features make it a challenge to even an experienced surfer. I will break this into a few different sections to make it simple to understand.

Thicknesses:

There are two main and common thicknesses.

3/2- Is meant for surfing in mild to cold water temperatures. Most people use these suits for water in the 70F-55F depending on the weather too. This is a good all around suit for fall and spring that will keep you warm for the most part.

4/3- This thickness is used for colder water that also has cold weather. This is what you want if you surf in northern California or similar conditions…Cold Water and freezing water.

Finding a good wetsuit that fits:

Finding the right size is just a timely process. It is best to go to a good surf shop to try on at least 4 different brands and sizes. This is not a process to rest so that you are not cold when a killer swell comes. The truth is: no wetsuit fits everyone perfect, you just have to try on a bunch of different styles.

The Fit:
The wetsuit you buy must be a proper fix to allow the wetsuit to work to the best of its ability. The wetsuit should fit tight, but not restrict movement. You need to be able to touch you toes with the suit on . You will know when you find the right suit cause it will feel good.
