Wave Selection
Wave Selection is the most important skill that a surfer can learn. Consequently, it is also the hardest. Wave selection is one of the biggest things which separates an average surfer from a surfer such as Kelly Slater. It is a skill which can only be learned for surfing. No book or guide can teach you. It simply comes from experience. Wave Selection is being able to choose the best wave out of the set and know how and when a wave will break. Wave Selection is the most important skill for surfing.
