Paddle or Tow?
The debate for big wave surfers has been wether to tow or paddle. Tow surfing which was started to aid surfers in catching waves too big to paddle into has turned into a everyday event no matter how big the waves are. But it seems that now a lot of surfers have realized that they should save the PWC’s for big un-paddleable waves such as Jaws. I think that Tow Surfing has its place at big wave spots like Jaws & Cortes Bank but it shouldn’t be used at places like Mavericks unless the waves hit over 60 feet.
