Coxos, Portugal

Coxos has many advantages over other surf spots. It offers world class surf with easy access through the international airport.You can surf here year-round which is nice if you are a local. It is a right point break, which breaks over a reef. The wave has legendary board breaking power. The waves come from deep water and then hits the shallow reef. This results in long grinding barrels. Sharp rocks, strong currents and the paddle out makes this a dangerous place to surf. The wave jacks up and you will then experience an intense drop followed by a long crisp wall for you to ride to your delight. The water is cold so bring warm clothing.
