This World Title race continues to heat up as the media begins the speculation of who will win the 2012 Rip Curl Pro Portugal. All the top surfers looked in form with Joel Parkinson developing the highest heat total of the day. After multiple lay days the action got underway as Surf Fans flocked to the beach, surprising many within the surf industry.
All I can say is, I am happy for on-demand heat review which allows me to catch all the action while also getting a full nights sleep here in the USA. The first day of competition saw slow conditions in the early heat with a building swell throughout the day. The excitement also built for surf fans on the beach and watching online as beach breaks often make for lots of action and peaky barrels and air sections for the most talented surfers in the world
