This next week is what Southern California Surf fans wait for all year. No I am not talking about the $15 Trestles parking or the countless Pro's and Amatuers who invade our various local breaks. I am talking about the 2012 Hurley Pro, which is part of the ASP World Tour. Its also the week that countless surf fans will be glued to their Computers while watching the Live Webcast. With one of the most performance friendly waves and a group of talented and explosive surfers, the action is sure to be impressive.
Standouts in past years include Kelly Slater, Mick Fanning and Taj Burrow. But nobody is safe in the rankings as the younger generation such as Kolohe Andino and Julian Wilson look to further their careers on such a grand stage. Kolohe clearly has the locals advantage as he grew up with this wave in his backyard and his experience shows both when the waves are pumping or a tight heat is in the midst of a long lull.
