Its grey and overcast as I drive past Huntington Beach Pier and the Arena for the 2012 Nike US Open of Surfing which will get underway first thing tomorrow morning. Its surprisingly not to cold on land, but many wish they would have packed a warmer wetsuit as the water was quite chilly.
Some of the top surfers were in the water getting used to one of the hardest waves to surf including Nate Yeomans, Jack Freestone, Lakey Peterson, Laura Enever and many more. The waves were below average, while the talent was above average which resulted in numerous paddle battles for the set waves.
The 2012 Nike US Open of Surfing gets started tomorrow morning and you aren't gonna want to miss out on the action!
