Stand Up Paddling is one of the best workouts I have ever done, while also being a blast. I gravitate towards doing distance paddling, rather than surfing a SUP Board since I don't like it when people are Stand Up Paddling where I am surfing.
One of the great places to Stand Up Paddle Board in Southern California is San Diego. From crystal clear water to warm weather; it is definitely high on my list as somewhere to go Stand Up Paddle. Whether you are looking to do an open ocean paddle or relaxing; San Diego is the place for you.
Some of the popular San Diego SUP spots include Mission Bay, La Jolla and Coronado Island. If you happen to go to Coronado Island, then make sure you stop by The Burger Lounge for some awesome grub.
Also keep in mind that their are plenty of San Diego SUP companies that offer rentals and lessons if you are traveling or want to learn how. Overall San Diego is a great place for Stand Up Paddling and definitely somewhere I plan to go down to this summer!
